This 2011 Yamaha VX Sport came to us on 1/20/14. The bad guys stole her and abused her as well. Her owner’s son was heart broken, but glad to get his wave runner back. It had damaged rub rails, graphics, paint, and fractures in her upper body. Her owner gave Captain Dave his insurance claim number and the transformation began.
Epoxy repair made the bow of the wave runner ready for epoxy primer. Captain Levi only uses the highest grade of marine epoxy and fiberglass fabrics to repair Yamaha wave runners.
Our Yamaha wave runner took a pretty hard hit on her starboard bow. After the epoxy fiberglass repair, Captain uses P-77 polyester filler and fairing compound. It offers the user a smooth workable paste with a set-fast cure to expedite those applications for repair or finish. P-77 is easier to sand than conventional fillers and can be finished to a feather edge. This material has excellent adhesive and bond strength to fiberglass, SMC, FRP, epoxy, graphite, and Kevlar® composites.
