Hull Crack Repair•Tampa Bay, Florida
Repair stress cracks, impact cracks, spider cracks and damaged fiberglass before water intrusion turns a small problem into a structural repair.
Fiberglass hull cracks can be cosmetic or structural. They’re often caused by impact, repeated flexing, stress, previous repairs, water intrusion or laminate failure. Our team inspects the entire area to find the root cause and repair it correctly — not just cover it up.

Web-like cracks in the gelcoat from impact or repeated stress.
Spider cracks usually stay in the gelcoat, but they’re a sign that something is flexing or took a hit, often around a fitting, a cleat or an old impact point. We sound the area to rule out laminate damage, grind the cracks out, add reinforcement where it flexes, then fair, color-match, wet sand and polish.

Extend into the laminate and require structural repair to restore strength.
A crack that flexes when pressed, weeps water or follows a stress line such as a chine, keel or bulkhead is usually more than skin deep. We grind and taper the area back to sound fiberglass, rebuild the laminate with marine-grade cloth and resin, then fair it, gelcoat it to your color, wet sand and polish.

Common from loose fittings, movement or stress. We repair and reinforce the area.
Through-hulls, cleats and other fittings concentrate load in a small spot, and once a fitting works loose, the fiberglass around it cracks and water can follow the fastener holes into the laminate or core. We remove the fitting, grind out the cracked glass, add reinforcement around the opening, and re-bed the fitting before finishing.
