Florida sun, salt, and time can take a toll on your boat’s gelcoat. Our oxidation removal and fading restoration services bring back the original color, depth, and shine — without a repaint.

Glossy cream hull after compounding and polishing

Compound & Polish

Multi-stage compounding and polishing for a smooth, high-gloss finish.

When gelcoat turns dull and chalky from sun and salt, the color and gloss are usually still there under the oxidized surface. After a full wash and decontamination, we compound to cut away the oxidation, follow with finer polishing stages to refine the surface and bring back depth, and finish with marine wax or sealant to help it last.

Why Boats Oxidize and Fade

Florida’s Environment Takes a Toll.

Constant UV exposure, saltwater, heat, and weather cause gelcoat to oxidize over time. This breaks down the surface, leaving a chalky, faded appearance that can make your boat look old and neglected.

  • UV ExposureBreaks down gelcoat and causes fading.
  • SaltwaterSpeeds up oxidation and surface damage.
  • Heat & WeatherExpands, contracts, and wears down finish.
  • TimeYears of use lead to chalking and discoloration.
