1. These terms

This website is operated by Boat Yard Captain Levi's LLC, doing business as Captain Levi's ("Captain Levi's", "we", "us"), of 11600 66th St N, Largo, FL 33773. By using the site, including the quote form and the Captain Levi chat assistant, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site; you are always welcome to call us at 727-391-7639 instead. Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain how we handle information and are part of these terms.

2. Online information is general

The descriptions of repairs, materials, timelines and typical costs on this site are general information about fiberglass and gelcoat work. Every boat and every damage is different, and the right repair depends on an inspection. Nothing on the site is advice about your particular boat, and you should not rely on it in place of an inspection by us or a qualified marine professional. We try to keep the site accurate and current, but we do not promise that it is complete, error-free or up to date.

3. Quotes and estimates

Any price, price range or timeline you see on the site, receive from the chatbot, or receive in an initial reply to the quote form is an estimate for discussion only. It is based on the limited information and photos available and is subject to inspection of the boat. The only binding price is a written estimate that we prepare after inspection and that you sign. We may revise an estimate if the inspection or the work reveals damage that was not visible from photos or descriptions, and the written estimate explains how that is handled.

4. The Captain Levi chatbot

"Captain Levi" on this site is an automated AI assistant. It is not a person and it is not an employee giving you a decision on our behalf. It is meant to help you find information, describe your boat and damage, and start a quote request that a real crew member will follow up. Please understand that:

  • its answers are generated automatically and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong;
  • it cannot give a binding quote, confirm a booking, or make any promise on our behalf;
  • anything it says about price, time or whether a repair is possible is subject to section 3;
  • we may read saved transcripts to follow up on your request, as described in the Privacy Policy.

If something the chatbot tells you matters to a decision you are making, confirm it with us by phone or email first.

5. Repair work

These terms do not govern the repair work itself. When you hire us, the work is governed by the written estimate you sign and the terms attached to it, which cover matters such as payment, our mechanic's lien rights under Florida law, transport and haul-out of the boat at the owner's risk, and the owner's responsibility to keep the boat insured while it is in our care. If anything on this website conflicts with a signed estimate, the signed estimate controls.

6. Photos and content you send us

You keep ownership of the photos, descriptions and messages you send through the quote form or the chatbot. By sending them, you give us permission to copy, store and use them to evaluate, quote, perform and document the work you are asking about, to communicate with you, and to share them with your insurance carrier or adjuster if your repair is an insurance claim. This permission lasts as long as we keep the related inquiry or estimate as a business record. We will not use your photos for advertising, our gallery or social media without asking you separately.

Please only send photos and information that you have the right to share. Do not send photos of other people without their permission, and do not send anything unlawful or abusive.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • send false quote requests, impersonate someone else, or use the forms or chat to harass, threaten or spam;
  • use the chatbot for anything other than questions about our services and your boat, or attempt to make it produce content unrelated to our business;
  • upload malware, or files that are not genuine photos of a boat or damage;
  • use bots, scrapers or automated tools to access the site, the forms, the chat or our API, or to collect content or data from the site, except for ordinary search-engine indexing;
  • try to bypass the bot check, rate limits or other security measures, probe or overload our servers, or access the staff dashboard or any part of the site you are not authorized to use;
  • copy or republish substantial parts of the site.

We may block, rate-limit or ignore requests that break these rules, and we may delete abusive content. If you believe your request was blocked by mistake, call us.

8. Our content

The text, photos, logo, "Captain Levi" character and design of this site belong to Boat Yard Captain Levi's LLC or are used with permission. You may view the site and print or save pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, such as keeping a copy of a service description. Any other use, including copying our photos or text for another website or business, needs our written permission. If you believe content on the site infringes your rights, contact us using the details below.

The site uses services from other companies, including Google (fonts and the optional map), Cloudflare (bot protection) and Anthropic (the chatbot's AI model), and may link to other websites such as Google Maps or manufacturer and supplier pages. Those sites and services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. A link does not mean we endorse the linked site.

10. No warranty

The website, the chatbot and all information on them are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind about the site or its content, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not promise that the site will be available at all times, free of errors, or free of viruses or other harmful components. This section is about the website only; any warranty on repair work is set out in your written estimate.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Florida law, Boat Yard Captain Levi's LLC and its owners, employees and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of use, data or profits, arising out of your use of or inability to use the website or the chatbot, or your reliance on information from them, even if we were told such damages were possible. Our total liability for any claim arising from the website or chatbot is limited to US $100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and nothing here affects the terms of a signed written estimate for repair work.

12. Governing law and venue

These terms and any dispute about the website are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You agree that any legal action about the website will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Pinellas County, Florida, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. Before starting any action, please contact us; most problems can be sorted out with a phone call.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add features to the site. The current version is always on this page, with its "Last updated" date at the top. Changes apply from the date they are posted; continuing to use the site after that means you accept the updated terms. If a part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
